We listen early, reply fast, and walk with people before the crisis hits.

How we work

HOW THE BUDDY SYSTEM WORKS

  1. You fill in a quick, no-pressure form.

  2. Within 12 hours, we match you with a NOSIV Buddy — someone trained in trauma-aware communication, peer support, and boundaries.

  3. You choose how and when you connect (text, call, voice notes).

  4. You’re not alone anymore.

All buddies receive:

  • 🛡️ NOSIV Peer Support Training

  • 🧠 Trauma & Safeguarding Guidance

  • 📞 On-call team support if anything escalates

If a crisis emerges, we step in fast with structured protocols — no one is left to navigate alone.

HOW WE KEEP PEOPLE SAFE

We protect as much as we support.

Every part of NOSIV is designed to create safety without control or judgement.

  • 🧠 Trauma-informed volunteer training

HOW WE STAY GROUNDED IN ETHICS

We’ve built NOSIV with guidance from:
  • The NHS Mental Health Support Framework
  • UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy)
  • BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy)
That means:
  • We consult with licensed therapists on our content
  • We design our toolbox around proven coping methods
  • We take safeguarding and mental health risk seriously — and act accordingly

When someone is ready to move from peer support to clinical therapy, we help guide that transition with warmth and care.
